Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I use Tweet Reel?

It's easy to find:

Tweet Reel gives your photos and videos a home on the internet with a Twitter-style vanity URL - http://tweetreel.com/YourName

It's easy to use:

Tweet Reel senses the orientation of both the video clips and photos you take, and rotates them automatically for playback and viewing online. The iPhone app also automatically adds a short url to your tweets so that your followers can immediately find and view your videos.

It uses Twitter for comments:

Commenting on Tweet Reel is done through Twitter, because we like to make it harder for anonymous cowards to be cowardly and anonymous.

And it updates in real-time:

Meaning updates flow onto the page in real-time, no need to refresh here.

Do I need a Tweet Reel account?

You do not need an account with Tweet Reel, just an account on Twitter. Tweet Reel uses OAuth, meaning we don't need or store your password to sign you in.

Can I use Tweet Reel to record videos on my iPhone or iPhone 3G?

No, the only phone capable is the new iPhone 3GS.

Tweet Reel isn't saving my videos, what's up?

This is a limitation of the current 3.0 firmware, and it has been fixed for the next version (3.1). You will see an update soon after OS 3.1 goes live. *Update* This is fixed in Tweet Reel v1.3.

How do I create an account on TweetReel.com?

You do not need an account on TweetReel.com, only an account on Twitter.com.

Does TweetReel.com store my password?

TweetReel.com does not store your password. It uses Twitter's OAuth to sign-in instead, so you do not have to give out your password.

How do I delete a Tweet?

Login to TweetReel.com with the Twitter account that you want to delete from, go to the tweet you want to delete or your reel (tweetreel.com/yourScreenName), and there should be a delete link below each tweet on your reel. This will delete all photos and videos stored on TweetReel.com, as well as the actual Tweet off of Twitter.

Does Tweet Reel have private tweets?

No, not at this time. Media uploaded to private Twitter accounts will be publicly available on TweetReel.com.

Tweet Reel is crashing at "Preparing..."

In Tweet Reel v1.3 640x480 resolution was introduced, and if you are taking advantage of it, you might run into crashes on file sizes over 125mb, or 640x480 videos with a duration of more than 5 minutes. A fix or limit for this will be added in Tweet Reel v1.4. Until then, choose a lower resolution for clips over 5 minutes long, or trim longer 640x480 clips to be 5 minutes in length.

Videos on TweetReel.com are taking a long time to load/download and play...

Make sure to update to the latest version of Tweet Reel on the iPhone/Touch, (currently TweetReel 1.3) to fix this!
